The Prevention Division's mission is to assist Mammoth Lakes residents in maintaining a safe community. This is accomplished through fire safety inspections, education about applicable fire codes and ordinances, and ensuring that public safety issues are researched and addressed appropriately. The Prevention Division is responsible for construction, building and property inspections; the defensible space program; plan review; special event permits; code enforcement and community outreach.
